Career
She started her career in Bengali film Bhalo Theko in 2003.Later she appeared in Hindi film Parinneta(2005). Then in 2006 , she appeared in Lage Raho Munna Bhai which was a Blockbuster film. The film gave her huge appreciation and fame in Bollywood. Then in 2007,She appeared in the Bollywood movie Heyy Babyy with Akshay Kumar. But this time her role was not well recieved by the audience. Then later she appeared in Bollywood movies like Bhool Bhulaiya, and then in Halla Bol opposite to Ajay Devgan.
Then she was casted in Kismat Connection with Shahid Kapoor . Then in 2009 she appeared in Paa with Abhishek Bachchan and this time her role was quite appreciated by audience. She also appeared in other Bollywood hits such as No One Killed Jessica and Dirty Picture.
Family
Vidya Balan was born in Mumbai, Maharashtra in the family of Tamilian descent. She is daughter of PR Balan who is Vice-President of Digicable and Saraswathi Balan who is homemaker. She also has two sister Priya Balan (who works in advertising) and Priyamani. She completed her schooling from St. Anthony Girls' High School in Mumbai.
